Impact Statement Volunteers provide friendship and companionship to housebound and socially isolated older adults and adults with different abilities living in Kitchener and Waterloo. Through each unique friendship, volunteers help create a sense of belonging and strengthen connections within the community.

Description Volunteers provide regular friendship and companionship to socially isolated individuals through visits lasting 1-3 hours. Visits are schedule once a week or bi-weekly at a mutually convenient time for both the volunteer and client.
The ability to speak languages other than English is an asset.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All volunteers will receive agency-wide and program-specific training before their first shift. The Program Coordinator is available to discuss concerns and provide ongoing support as needed.
Community Support Connections also offers regular educational workshops for volunteers on a variety of topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions. Working Conditions: Visits take place in clients' homes in Kitchener and Waterloo. Clients and their homes are pre-screened by staff.
Current areas of additional need include: - Volunteers in the Kitchener area - Adults aged 60 and older Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Anytime Time: 1-3 hours per week or bi-weekly at a mutually convenient time. Commitment: A minimum four-month commitment is required.
