Impact Statement To proudly provide valued services and build community and Corporate capacity by inspiring volunteers, staff, elected officials and all community members to be active contributions to Kitchener's Community Vision.

Description The Parks Youth Engagement Committee includes about 20 youth (ages 14-18) from across Kitchener. They meet once a month for two hours at the Rockway Community Centre. The committee gives young people a chance to learn about upcoming park projects and to share their ideas on how to make Kitchener’s parks more welcoming and enjoyable for youth.
Each meeting includes hands-on activities, simple discussions about youth-friendly design, and a chance for members to help shape a real park project. The committee values many different youth voices and makes sure young people can meaningfully influence how parks in the city grow and change.
