Impact Statement
By sharing your time with members of the Wayside community, you help create a sense of belonging and support. The relationships created at Waterloo Wayside are foundational for participants living independently while connected to an inclusive community that recognizes everyone's gifts and abilities.

Description
Waterloo Wayside Centre is seeking a few dedicated volunteers to join our newly formed Grants Team. This team plays an important role in securing grant funding that directly supports our programs and services for individuals and families in need in our community. Team members will be supported by and will collaborate closely with one another, learning and building grant-writing skills together. As a member of the Grants Team, you will:
- Attend regular team meetings (approximately 1–2 per month)
- Serve as lead writer for 1–2 grant applications per quarter, working collaboratively with other volunteers and staff
- Help research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with our mission
- Review and provide feedback on draft applications prepared by other team members
- Collaborate in developing stories, impact statements, and testimonials to strengthen future applications

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: On-site orientation will be provided by another member of the grants team, including discussion about Wayside’s values/approach.
Working Conditions: Ideal volunteers will have:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Interest in grant writing, fundraising, or research (prior experience is helpful but not required)
- Ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, and contribute to a supportive team environment
- Passion for community-based social services
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant development while contributing to meaningful local impact.
