Golf Fore Life is a specialized program supporting golfers living with dementia. The program is designed to provide those living with dementia a chance to continue playing, or return to, the sport they love.

Description
What will you be doing?
- Assisting golfer one on one on the golf course
- Drive a golf cart, help select clubs, assist with teeing up
- Provide golf tips and advice
We are looking for volunteers who:
- Have practical knowledge about the game of golf (i.e. how to play, golf etiquette,etc.)
- Interested in supporting someone with dementia
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia an asset but not required
- Are caring, understanding, friendly and outgoing
- Has good verbal communication skills
- Can commit to volunteering once a week for 10 week program
- Age 18+
Please note as part of the screening process for this role, applicants will be required to provide 2 non-family members references and a vulnerable sector police records check.

Training Details: One-on-one training provided by staff
Working Conditions: • Outdoor golf course setting
• Walking or driving a cart for 9 holes
Accessibility: Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less
Weekday - Daytime
This program runs for a 10 week term:
- Tuesdays June 23 – August 25, 9:00-11:30am
AND/OR
- Thursdays June 25-August 27 (no program July 30,) 9:00-11:30am
